Morgantown, WV- Today, David McKinley received the endorsement of the West Virginia Coal Association in his re-election campaign based on his strong support for West Virginia coal workers and his relentless fight against the Obama Administration's War on Coal.

Bill Raney, President of the West Virginia Coal Association said, "we are proud to endorse David's re-election because he has been such a great stalwart not only here in West Virginia but for the industry. We must have that strong voice in Washington to counter what this administration is doing and to make sure we do everything possible to protect the jobs of our great coal miners and all those that depend on the industry working everyday."

"It's an honor to receive the endorsement of the West Virginia Coal Association," said McKinley. "Coal is the backbone of the West Virginia economy and families and communities across West Virginia rely on coal for their livelihoods. However, our way of life has come under attack from President Obama and the EPA."

"That's why it's been my top priority to push back against these bullies and stand up for the men and women who keep our lights on," said McKinley. "On the wall in my office is a life-sized picture of a coal miner and his daughter. It's there to remind me each day just who I am fighting for."

"The West Virginia Coal Association has been an ally in this fight and I look forward to working together with them to advocate for West Virginia coal and protect our coal jobs," said McKinley.

Located in Charleston, W.Va., the West Virginia Coal Association is a trade association representing more than 90 percent of the state's underground and surface coal mine production. Its purpose is to have a unified voice representing the state's coal industry as well as increase emphasis on coal as a reliable energy source to help the nation achieve energy independence.
